📢 PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT 📢
The City of Edgewood invites residents to attend an informational public meeting regarding the planned Charter Oak Road Improvement Project, which is currently scheduled to begin in Spring 2027.
City staff and project representatives will provide an overview of the preliminary project design, discuss the anticipated construction timeline, and explain the various phases of the project. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a brief question-and-answer session.

⏰ Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
📍 Location: Liberty Hall, 550 Freedom Park Drive, Edgewood
This meeting is intended to keep residents informed about the project and provide an opportunity to learn more about the planned improvements to Charter Oak Road. We encourage all residents, especially those who live near or regularly travel the corridor, to attend.

Update: Service is restored as of 10 am on Thursday, June 18.

911, Non-Emergency Line Temporarily Down

911 calls are currently being routed to Kenton County 911 Dispatch. Callers are still being connected with emergency services. The County’s non-emergency line is completely down.

Boone County officials ask residents to only call 911 with urgent life safety matters as they work to restore service. The public will be notified as soon as 911 Dispatch is operational.

Every five years, the Northern Kentucky Area Development District (NKADD) works with community leaders and stakeholders to complete a thorough review of the Northern Kentucky Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).
The CEDS incorporates strategies that guide regional economic development, promote partnerships and collaboration, and enhance our region's economic outcomes and overall quality of life. You can view the current CEDS at https://www.nkadd.org/ceds/.
The CEDS update is underway, and your input is essential. NKADD is collecting feedback to guide regional priorities and future investments.
This survey is open to all individuals who live or work in Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, and Pendleton Counties. Please use the provided link to take the first in a series of surveys that are part of this process. This survey will take 15-20 minutes to complete.

Mayor John D. Link was proud to recognize Ryan Wilkerson during a recent City Council meeting for his outstanding performance at the 2026 Northern Kentucky APWA Roadeo.

Ryan, a member of the City of Edgewood General Services Department, earned 2nd Place in the skid steer competition while competing against nearly 100 public works professionals from across Northern Kentucky. The event tested participants' skills operating heavy equipment, including skid steers, backhoes, and mini excavators.

During the presentation, Parks Supervisor Chris Whitehead shared a few words about Ryan's dedication, strong work ethic, and the valuable contributions he makes to the City of Edgewood each day.

By placing second, Ryan has qualified to compete in the Kentucky APWA Roadeo later this summer.

Please join Mayor Link, City Council, and the entire City of Edgewood team in congratulating Ryan on this impressive achievement and wishing him the best of luck at the state competition!

Mayor John D. Link would like to thank Representative Stephanie Dietz for presenting City Clerk Belinda Nitschke with a Citation of Achievement in recognition of her 2026 Municipal Clerk of the Year Award.

This special recognition highlights Belinda’s dedication, professionalism, and outstanding service to the City of Edgewood and its residents. The Citation of Achievement serves as a testament to the positive impact she has made through her commitment to public service.

Mayor Link appreciates Representative Dietz taking the time to honor Belinda’s accomplishment and join the City in celebrating this well-deserved recognition.

🚧 Dudley Road Improvement Project Update 🚧
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has changed the design for the realignment of Dudley Road and Madison Pike.
Apparently KYTC has undergone a significant redesign of this project without any input, feedback or discussions with the City of Edgewood. KYTC indicates that during their engineering and right-of-way review process, it was determined by them that the cost associated with relocating Dudley Road and extending Sperti Drive was substantially higher than anticipated, reducing the overall cost-effectiveness of the original project concept.
KYTC’s response, have their engineering consultant develop a new alternative design that eliminates the need to acquire property from New Perceptions and avoids relocating or extending Sperti Drive. Instead, the revised plan would restrict left-turns from Dudley Road onto Madison Pike, KY 17, and construct signalized R-Cuts (U-turn locations) to improve traffic flow and safety.
This revised alternative from KYTC has received funding through the state highway plan for right-of-way acquisition and utility relocations. Which indicates they are moving forward with the plan.
KYTC thinks they will have updated design plans from their consultant later this summer. If the project continues on schedule, property acquisition activities and utility relocation design work could begin this winter.
As with the original plans for this project the City of Edgewood was not consulted with these changes and has not been notified as of this post. We will try to get more information regarding this project. As soon as we do, we will share with everyone.
