🚨 MAKE A PLAN. 🚨
At approximately 11:35 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, Edinburg Police and Fire departments responded to a major single-vehicle collision at the Hidalgo County Courthouse.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a BMW traveling southbound on Closner failed to stop and crashed directly into the front entrance of the courthouse, causing extensive structural damage to the building.
Investigators suspect alcohol was a contributing factor. This investigation remains active.
Driving impaired is a choice that carries life-altering consequences. Before you take your first sip, decide how you're getting home safely.

When every moment counted, Edinburg Patrol Officers Luis Hernandez, Luis Saenz, and Victor Duberney acted without hesitation. 🚓 Due to their swift action during a near-drowning event last March, a 2-year-old boy fully recovered! To celebrate their bravery, South Texas Health System honored these three officers with a special recognition for saving a young life. ❣️
