August marked 17 years since I became pastor of Coffee Creek Church.
I arrived with my wife, Wendy, our 4-year-old son, Stephen, our 2-year-old son, Sam, and a ton of optimism! Some thought I was crazy to leave a large, healthy, multi-staff church to pastor a young, struggling church of 27 people with one full-time employee: me.
But God has been amazingly faithful.
Over these past 17 years, Coffee Creek has grown into a church home for hundreds of people. We’ve watched God provide for my family, erase every dollar of church debt, and establish Coffee Creek in the middle of one of the fastest-growing communities in our region.
And I believe our best days are ahead of us.
There are more families to love. More neighbors to serve. More people who need a church where they can belong, ask questions, discover Jesus, and find their way home.
Seventeen years in, and I am so grateful for every one of them.
I cannot wait for what God wants to do next at Coffee Creek!
