This year, we proudly celebrate 20 years of Advanced Life Support service at the Edmond Fire Department!
In 2006, nine dedicated members of our department completed paramedic training, launching our Advanced Life Support (ALS) Program and elevating the level of emergency medical care available to the citizens of Edmond. Initially paramedics were assigned to Stations 1, 3, and 5, providing our community with faster access to lifesaving, advanced pre-hospital care when it mattered most.
Since that time, our ALS program has grown tremendously — from 9 paramedics in 2006 to 57 paramedics serving our community today from six stations. Over the past two decades, that commitment to excellence and growth has only strengthened. In 2026, we now have 10 ALS equipped apparatus that can be staffed with paramedics, significantly expanding our ability to deliver rapid, high-quality ALS services across the city.
This milestone is a testament to the vision, dedication, and professionalism of our firefighters and paramedics — past and present — who continue to serve Edmond with compassion, skill, and pride. We also recognize that none of this would be possible without the continued trust and support of our community. Your support allows us to train, grow, and provide the highest level of emergency medical care when it’s needed most.
Here’s to 20 years of continuous improvement, innovation, and unwavering service to our community! 🚑🔥
