👀 Introducing… Guess the Heartland Teacher! 📸💚💛

Before they were Thunderhawks, they were kids just like ours! 🥹

On Thursdays, we’ll be sharing throwback photos + a few clues about some of our Heartland teachers. Think you can figure out who’s who? 🤔

Let the guessing begin… 👀👇

🕵️ Clue #1
This mischievous, athletic kid was always ready to make a little trouble… especially if it meant getting to PE! 🏃‍♀️🏀👀

Seventh grade students in Mr. Alston’s class took their learning about different forms of government from theory to hands-on practice! After learning about different systems of government, students worked in small groups to build straw structures—but there was a catch: the rules for each group were determined by the type of government they were assigned.
💪 In one group, an arm-wrestling match determined the dictator.
👑 In another, the oldest student became the king or queen.
🏗️ And yes, one “queen” even had her group make her a crown!
What a fun (and memorable!) way to see how different systems of government can influence leadership, decision-making, and how a group operates. 📚✨

Ms. Hings’ art students took inspiration from Mecha Chameleon, the game that took the gaming community by storm this summer. Similar to the hide-and-seek/Prop Hunt games featured in popular games like Minecraft and Fortnite, students had one goal: become part of their surroundings!

But instead of simply selecting an object to hide behind, students had to physically design themselves into the environment. Each student selected a character, chose a specific pose, and used their knowledge of color theory to create a design that would blend into the classroom around them.

The ultimate challenge? Who could make their character the most invisible? 👀

🎬 Sixth grade Multimedia students in Ms. Goss’s class teamed up to create their own movie posters using Adobe Express, Canva, and stock photos. From concept to final design, students put their creativity and digital design skills to work.
We’re loving what they came up with! 🎥🔥
