🥂 BRUNCH REPORT: RISTORANTE MACHIAVELLI

☕ Coffee: Great

🥞 Best For:• Date brunch• Catching up with friends• Treat-yourself brunch

🌿 Vibe:• Charming• Cozy• Neighborhood favorite

🥂 Mimosa Situation:To be determined. We skipped the cocktails this visit, which means we’ll just have to come back.

🍽️ Must Order:

• Eggs Benedict! House-finished hollandaise, pancetta, poached egg, spinach, and an English muffin.

• Chicken Parmesan Ciabatta Sandwich - Lightly fried chicken breast topped with melted mozzarella and parmesan, homemade marinara, and fresh basil on ciabatta, served with a side of marinara.

The portions were generous, the food was consistently good, and the Italian-inspired twists on brunch classics made everything feel a little more special.

⭐ Would We Return? Absolutely.

📝 Brunch Bureau Notes: Located between downtown Edmonds and the waterfront, Ristorante Machiavelli is perfectly positioned for a leisurely morning. The patio is a great option on a sunny day, while the interior has a warm, inviting ambiance that makes it an ideal date spot. We’ll definitely be back to investigate the mimosa situation.

Remix from

“Tide poolers, rejoice!
Feeling like beachcombing and peeping out some octopuses, sea stars, or crabs?
The next few afternoons will have some of the lowest tides of the year. These temporarily receding waters open us land-dwellers up to the world of views of sea life simply by walking out to the waterline!
Tide levels — why so low? It’s because the tide levels are altered by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun. And while the mass of these celestial objects matters, the distance from these objects is more impactful. That’s why the moon’s pull dominates the tidal cycle.
If you see animals, please don’t touch or take them.”

Who’s swinging by Edmonds for low tide tomorrow? I’ll see ya there!

Stop scrolling if tacos + sunshine are your Cinco de Mayo plans ☀️🌮

In anticipation for the holiday, I was craving Mexican food big time! So took my husband and son to a favorite of mine, , grabbed gelato from Gelato Caffé, and soaked up the sun in Hazel Miller Plaza. Honestly… 10/10 day.

If you’re celebrating in Edmonds, here’s your Mexican food roundup:

✨ Fe Mexican Grill & Cantina – classic cantina energy
✨ – elevated flavors + margaritas
✨ Family Mexican Restaurant – they’re doing a big party this year! Definitely check them out!
✨ TaqueriaLosAmigos – casual, authentic tacos
✨ .taco – creative, no-fuss taco spot

Support local, eat well, and make a day of it 🌞

What are your Cinco de Mayo plans this year? What spots should I add to my list?

I’m going to teach you a few phrases so you can blend in with the locals next time you’re in Edmonds ⛴️

“The long dark”
“Rain tax”
“The mountains are out”
“The bowl”
“The ID”

If you know, you know… and if you don’t, consider this your crash course.

I ran out of time, so part two is coming. And trust me, there are more where this came from.

Locals, weigh in ⬇️
What did I miss? What did I get wrong? What would you add?

Thanks to for the original idea!

One year of crumpets in Edmonds 🎂🥳🎉

Happy 1st birthday to The Crumpet Shop! the iconic Seattle staple that brought its cozy, British-inspired magic north.

If you didn’t know, the original shop opened in downtown Seattle’s Pike Place Market back in 1976, serving up handmade crumpets long before they were trending. Golden, airy centers with perfectly crisp edges… made to soak up butter, honey, or something a little more indulgent.

Now Edmonds gets to celebrate a full year of that same magic 🫖✨

Market day tip: go with a friend. Order 2–3 crumpets each, split them down the middle, and suddenly you’ve created your own little sampler situation. More flavors, no regrets.

Start with a crumpet brunch, wander the market, grab something fresh, and make a full afternoon of it.

If you needed a sign to romanticize your Saturday in Edmonds… this is it.
