Fireworks are illegal within the City of Edmonds.

That means fireworks are not allowed in neighborhoods, parks, beaches, streets, or on private property within city limits.

We know the Fourth of July is a time to celebrate, but fireworks can cause injuries, fires, property damage, and serious stress for neighbors, pets, and veterans.

Please celebrate responsibly and help keep Edmonds safe, peaceful, and firework-free.

Respect the ban. Keep Edmonds safe.

At 0520 hours this morning, Edmonds Police Detectives, along with Edmonds SWAT Team members served a search warrant at a home in the 9200 block of 224th ST SW in Edmonds. A 50-year old Edmonds man was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for charges of: Dealing in Depictions of Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in the 1st Degree and Possession of Depictions of Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in the 1st Degree.

This is an ongoing investigation and no further details are being released at this time.

E-Bike Law Update: What riders and parents need to know

Washington’s e-bike laws are changing, and Senate Bill 6110 goes into full effect on June 11, 2026.

Here are the big takeaways:

•E-assisted bicycles must have fully operable pedals
•Motors must be 750 watts or less
•Motor-assisted speed is capped at 28 mph
•Unassisted motion must be less than 20 mph

E-bikes can be a great way to get around Edmonds, but they are still vehicles that require safe, responsible riding. Please talk with young riders before summer is in full swing.

Slow down near pedestrians. Follow traffic laws. Wear a helmet. Ride like your safety — and everyone else’s — matters.

Summer is almost here, and we know many kids and teens will be out enjoying their e-bikes around Edmonds. We get it. E-bikes are fun. But they are also faster and heavier than a regular bicycle, and a crash can cause serious injuries to the rider, pedestrians, or drivers who may not have time to react.

Parents, please take a few minutes to talk safety with your child before they ride.

Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer — it is a day to pause, reflect, and remember the sacrifice of those who never came home.
