Oh Tyler, you continue to amaze us! We are so proud of all of your achievements! Your success is because YOU believed in yourself! Keep soaring, you deserve all the great things that life has to offer!

Tyler Williams was reluctant to walk across the stage at MCC’s spring commencement ceremony.

He couldn’t help but think of the hundreds of eyes all on him as his name was called. But even though he was scared, he knew he had to do it for his support system to see — he simply wouldn’t be there without them.

“I always felt like if anyone in my family was to be the one to change the trajectory of things, it would have to be me,” Williams said. “I knew I was capable of it. I saw how my parents were, I saw my surroundings, I saw how everyone acted and how they handled things and I ran as far away from that as I could. I took all that knowledge of how not to do things and I learned from it.”

Medication Pick Up

Dear Families,

As we wrap up the school year, we want to remind you that all student medications stored in the nurse's office must be picked up by an adult.
Please make arrangements to collect your child's medication from the school nurse by: Deadline: Friday, June 12th at 3:00 PM
Important Notice: Due to safety regulations, schools are not permitted to store medications over the summer. Any medication not picked up by Friday, June 12th at 3:00 PM will be turned over to the Sheriff’s Department for safe disposal.
If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse directly.

On Thursday, June 4, Danny McCarthy, the middle school track coaches, and Danny’s friends and family traveled to the Mid-Michigan MEGASTAR Meet held in Shephard.

Danny qualified early in the season to run the 100m dash at this year’s MEGASTAR meet. Qualifying time was set at 12:51 and Danny qualified with a time of 12:10. At the meet, Danny ran in the 5th heat of the 100m dash, coming in 2nd place in the heat. Once all of the heats ran, Danny came out with a 6th place finish overall in the small school division.

Coach McKinstry and Coach Hannah are so proud of all you have accomplished this year, Danny! They can’t wait to see how well you do next year on the high school team!

Congratulations to James Rodriguez, he is the Daily News Athlete of the Week!

James Rodriguez of Montabella boys track and field was voted this week’s Daily News Athlete of the Week. Rodriguez, a sophomore, won an individual state title in the 100-meter dash at the Division 4 state finals last Saturday.
