Message from Patrick King, Past President of the MCBA

Dear MCBA Members:

I wish to thank Madison County Bar Association for my time and opportunity in leadership positions. Over several years, I have served as Young Lawyers’ Division Chairperson, Secretary (Corresponding and Recording), Treasurer, Vice President (Second and First), and President. It has been an honor and privilege. Our members, comprising of active and retired Judges and lawyers, demonstrate the highest commitment to competency, ethics, and professionalism. It is my plan to remain active and support our bar association, including its service and contributions among the bench, bar, and community.

I wish to formally congratulate Adam Bragee on becoming President of Madison County Bar Association. Adam is a first-class lawyer and person - who will serve our members with integrity, reliability, and professionalism.

Thank you, again.

Sincerely,

Message from Adam Bragee, President of the MCBA
Members of the Bar:

As your newly elected President, thank you all for entrusting me with this position. For those of you I have not yet met, I am a plaintiff's personal injury attorney at Walton Telken in Edwardsville. I want to recognize and thank Patrick King for his service and contributions to MCBA as an officer, and most-recently, President. He has committed a great deal of time to this organization over the past several years and excelled in navigating the MCBA through the uncertainty of COVID-19 during the past few months. His leadership and dedication to our organization is truly appreciated and will be formally recognized at the next MCBA meeting.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to meet for months. COVID-19 has resulted in the cancellation of the Madison-St. Clair County joint meeting, as well as Law Day and our annual scholarship drive. We are diligently trying to reschedule these events, if at all possible, so please continue to check your email for updates.

We have an outstanding Board of Officers who are passionate about continuing the efforts of the Madison County Bar Association to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, promote reform in the law, facilitate the administration of justice, and improve public perception of the legal profession through public outreach and service. The Board is currently exploring ways to host a meeting, but with the size of our membership, it is uncertain when that will become a reality. The June meeting is tentatively set for June 25th at Bella Milano. We continue to closely monitor the regulations set forth by the State and Madison County, and will continue to update the membership as new information becomes available regarding our meetings.

I look forward to this opportunity and leading the MCBA during the 2020-2021 bar term. Until we can meet in person, please stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,

Adam Bragee, President of the Madison County Bar Association
