Congratulations to the two recipients of our Good Neighbor Scholarship, Emma Birkenmeyer and Zoe Oller! 🎉
EMMA BIRKENMEYER:
Emma’s essay was a powerful reminder that philanthropy is often found in the small, consistent acts of kindness that help others feel seen, valued, and included. Through more than 150 hours of service supporting individuals with special needs, Emma has made an incredible impact through programs such as PMII, Unified Basketball and Dance, Special Olympics, and community activities.
In addition to her service work, Emma has also been a valued member of the Edwardsville Neighbors Junior Board, helping further our mission of supporting local families and strengthening our community.
Her compassion, patience, and dedication to empowering others truly embody the spirit of the Good Neighbor Scholarship. Emma’s passion for advocating for individuals with special needs has inspired her future goals of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and eventually creating supportive housing opportunities for adults with special needs.
ZOE OLLER:
Zoe’s passion for serving others shines through in every part of her life. From volunteering at a local nursing home, to tutoring younger students, to serving on the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Jr. Guild Board, Zoe has consistently demonstrated compassion, leadership, and a true commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
In her scholarship essay, Zoe shared how these experiences strengthened her passion for healthcare and solidified her goal of becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her kindness, patience, and servant heart embody exactly what the Good Neighbor Scholarship was created to recognize.
We are so proud to recognize both Emma and Zoe for their servant leadership and commitment to making a lasting difference in the lives of others. Congratulations to your both!
