Today is 529 Day, a reminder that investing in a childโ€™s future is one of the most meaningful things we can do.

Whether their journey leads to college, trade school, or career training, helping families save today can create more opportunities tomorrow. Even small steps now can make a lasting difference and help reduce the burden of student debt in the future.

Illinoisโ€™ Bright Start 529 and Bright Directions 529 plans continue to give families accessible, affordable tools to plan ahead and invest in the next generation.

Did You Know?

May is National Electrical Safety Month, an annual campaign sponsored by the Electrical Safety Foundation International to raise awareness of electrical hazards and promote safe practices at home and in the workplace. Exposure to electrical hazards can result in shocks, burns, fires, explosions, and even electrocution.

Electrical hazards are preventable. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) encourages employers and individuals to take electrical safety seriously by identifying risks, following safe work practices, and staying properly trained.

Some important safety tips to remember:
๐Ÿ”Œ Inspect cords and equipment regularly for damage
๐Ÿ”Œ Never overload outlets or power strips
๐Ÿ”Œ Keep electricity away from water and wet areas
๐Ÿ”Œ Use properly rated and grounded equipment
๐Ÿ”Œ Report or repair warning signs like flickering lights, sparks, or burning smells immediately.

Please go through the link for further info:

A few simple precautions can prevent serious injuries and save lives. Letโ€™s work together to stay safe at home and on the job this May and throughout the year. โšก
