On 07/21/2025, The Effingham Police Department responded to multiple reports of a Burglary and Motor Vehicle break-ins that occurred during the early morning hours in the area of Green Mountain Road and Highwatch Road. During the investigation, information was gathered and officers obtained home security footage from a resident on Route 25 that was also a victim of a burglary. Due to the vigilance of the homeowner, Effingham Police were able to get an accurate description of the suspect and relay it to surrounding agencies to be on the lookout.

Shortly after broadcasting the suspect description, Ossipee Police Officers were able to locate a male subject matching the description. Effingham Police responded with the Ossipee Police Department and were able to locate Brandon Wyckoff. During the on-scene investigation, Brandon Wyckoff was found in possession of stolen items reported from the earlier Motor vehicle break-ins. Brandon Wyckoff was taken into custody and charged with the following crimes:

Burglary Night/Home/Weapon (Class A Felony)
Burglary (Class B Felony)
Two counts of Theft by unauthorized taking (Class A Misdemeanor)
Receiving Stolen Property (Class A Misdemeanor)
Criminal Mischief (Class B Misdemeanor)

Brandon Wyckoff was held at the Carroll County House of Corrections and was brought before the Carroll County Superior Court on 07/22/2025. He was held on preventative detention.

The Effingham Police Department would like to thank Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Ossipee Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.
