🌟New Board Member Spotlight🌟

Kristina Holkenbrink joins the United Way of Effingham County Board of Directors in 2026! We are so grateful to have two wonderful people from Siemer Milling Company on the board, helping support the United Way Mission! 💙

Kristina shared a little bit about herself.. here's what she said -

"I am the grain merchandiser at Siemer Milling Company in Teutopolis. I work with farmers and grain elevators to purchase the wheat, which we turn into flour for everyday favorites like cakes, cookies and crackers.

Outside of work, I am a wife and mom of two, living in rural Teutopolis. I love spending time outdoors and making memories with our friends and family- whether that’s enjoying the simple moments at home or gathering together for good food and great company. I am looking forward to giving back and making a positive impact in my community by being a part of the United Way of Effingham County."

Welcome, Kristina! We're so happy to have you! 🤩

🌟New Board Member Spotlight🌟

We're back with another new Board Member in 2026! Heather Schmidt joins us from Willenborg's Reconditioning.🚗 (The marketing video game has really stepped up since Heather joined the crew over there so be sure to check them out!)

Heather is going to be such a fun addition to the Board of Directors! Always willing to help and lots of fun new ideas! (She will absolutely speak in front of the entire crowd to tell you all about them. 😉 That's a joke.. that's not her favorite. We won't make you do that, Heather.)

She did, however, graciously write a little bit about herself for us though.. here's what she's got to say:

"Hi, my name is Heather. I'm 33 years young and a Teutopolis High School grad now living in Effingham. I work at Willenborg’s Reconditioning in Teutopolis, where I’m lucky to be part of a team that truly takes pride in their work, values family, and regularly gives back to the community.

I met my husband Mark back in 2015 while waitressing at Buffalo Wild Wings, and we’ve been married since October 2019. We welcomed our first baby boy Graham in May of 2023 and our second son Sutton in May of 2025.

When I’m not working or chasing our kids, you’ll find me reading, walking our husky Millie, out on a Sunday drive, or in the summer, you can find us at the lake with family and friends.

Being part of United Way gives me the chance to give back to our community in a truly meaningful way. The impact they make is both positive and lasting."

Welcome, Heather! 🥳
