Natural disasters including tornados can be traumatizing and will cause emotional and psychological impact on individuals. Emotional reactions may include fear, anger, sadness, anxiety, numbness, irritability, grief and frustration. Physical responses might include exhaustion, trouble sleeping, changes in appetite, elevated heart rates, headaches, and muscle tension. These responses are a part of the body's natural coping mechanisms, but can cause other mental health struggles and be overwhelming if not treated properly.

If you are a victim of the recent storms and need mental health treatment, please contact our office at 217-347-7179 and let our support staff know, so we can set you up with services.
