Effingham County Dive Rescue Team

Effingham County Dive Rescue Team public service The Effingham County Dive Rescue Team consists of from 12- 20 all volunteer Public Safety Divers and Shore Responders.

Trained by Dive Rescue International in both Public Safety Diving and Dive Rescue Specialist programs, plus Haz mat, ICS, CPR, first aid and 02 administration.

Over the weekend we cut a hole in the ice to go say hi to Chompy. (We may have done some training too.) We recommend always checking the thickness and quality of the ice before any ice related recreation. The general recommendation is 4” of new clear ice for walking and be sure to always wear a PFD.

We are looking for self starters who want to meet the demands of membership on the Dive-Rescue team. We have immediate openings for Shore Responders (non diving) team members. Basic training is set for August 19th and 20th. You must interview, pass a physical fitness test and have a clear criminal record. If interested, act quickly.
