We proudly congratulate Chief Patrick Snyder of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office on his well earned retirement on July 1st 2026 after more than 25 years of dedicated service in law enforcement.

Throughout his career, Pat was much more than a respected law enforcement leader he was an unwavering advocate for his fellow officers. As a longtime Shop Steward for the Superior Officers Association within Atlantic County Prosecutors Office, he played a vital role in multiple contract negotiations, always ensuring the voices of our members were heard and represented.

Pat also selflessly coordinated benefits for the families of active duty members who tragically passed away, providing compassion, guidance, and support during some of the most difficult moments imaginable. He was also the go to resource for military related issues affecting our members, generously sharing his knowledge and ensuring those who served our country received the support they deserved.

His commitment to our membership, his leadership, and his willingness to help others have left a lasting impact that will continue long after his retirement.

On behalf of everyone at Mainland PBA Local 77, thank you, Chief Snyder, for your years of service, your dedication to our union, and your friendship. We wish you and your family nothing but happiness, good health, and many well-deserved adventures in retirement.

Congratulations, Pat! Enjoy this next chapter, you’ve certainly earned it.

The Atlantic City Police Department is thankful to report that both officers injured in yesterday’s incident are expected to recover. One officer, who initially suffered life threatening injuries, remains in serious but stable condition at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
We want to thank AtlantiCare and its trauma team, nurses, doctors, and support staff for their quick, professional care. We also appreciate our local elected officials, community partners, faith leaders, and all Atlantic City residents who have reached out and are keeping our officers in their thoughts and prayers.
Thank you as well to our fellow law enforcement agencies and first responders who responded, assisted with the investigation, provided coverage, and checked on our officers and our department. The members of ACPD, along with our dispatchers, EMS, firefighters, and civilian staff, continue to support one another as a close knit family.
Most of all, we thank the families of our injured officers for their strength and support during this difficult time.

On June 2nd, 2026, our friend, colleague, husband, father, and brother in blue, Sergeant Christian Ivanov of the Atlantic City Police Department, was critically injured after being shot in the line of duty while serving and protecting the community he has dedicated his life to. Christian is currently in stable but serious condition, surrounded by his family, friends, and fellow officers as he begins the fight toward recovery.

To many, Christian is a highly respected SWAT Sergeant with the Atlantic City Police Department, a leader who has spent his career running toward danger when others are running away from it. He is known for his courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to protecting others. But beyond the badge, Christian is so much more. He is a devoted husband to his wife and a loving father to three young children who are now facing an uncertain and difficult road ahead. He is a successful small business owner, a mentor, a friend, and the kind of person who is always willing to help others without hesitation.

Today, Christian and his family need our help. The road to recovery will be long. As Christian focuses on healing, his family will be faced with medical expenses, travel costs, childcare needs, household expenses, and countless unforeseen challenges that come with recovering from a traumatic injury.

We are asking the Atlantic County community, touched by the sacrifices made by first responders, to stand with Christian and his family during this difficult time. Christian has spent his life protecting others. Now it is our turn to support him. Thank you for your generosity, support, and prayers.
