It is with a heavy heart that we sadly announce the untimely passing of one of our own, Candis Bartell. Candis had been a Communications Officer with our agency since 2019. Previously she served with the Pleasantville Police Department's Communications Center. The void left behind by her passing is palpable for all that got to know, adore, and work alongside her. Candis was sweet, caring, and full of moxie. Candis proudly dedicated her heart and soul to the citizens of Egg Harbor Township, Pleasantville, Northfield, Linwood, Longport, and Somers Point, whether she was on or off duty. Candis will be deeply missed, but her compassion and benevolence will carry on through her co-workers, family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own, Dispatcher 15991, Candis Bartell.

Candis was the calm, familiar voice heard over the radio, dispatching our police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel whenever duty called. Her professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to serving our community will never be forgotten.

On behalf of the entire Egg Harbor Township public safety family, we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.

Rest in peace, Candis. Thank you for your service, your dedication, and for always being there when we needed you most. You will forever remain a part of our family.

Rest easy, Dispatcher 15991. We’ll take it from here.
