Enduring Legacy

Last week, 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) came together with family, teammates, and veterans to honor one of our own.

We unveiled a bronze bust of Sgt. 1st Class Pedro A. Munoz at the Memorial Rock Garden on Camp “Bull” Simons — a permanent reminder of his courage, sacrifice, and the standard he set for every Green Beret who follows.

From his early service in Desert Shield/Storm and Haiti, to thousands of jumps with the Golden Knights, and his final deployment with 7th Group in Afghanistan — SFC Munoz embodied what it means to live De Oppresso Liber. His legacy continues to strengthen La Familia and inspires us daily.

Thank you to Dalia and the Munoz family for entrusting us with this powerful symbol of remembrance.
We will never forget.

Happy 251st Birthday, U.S. Army!

Today, Soldiers of the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) cut the cake to honor 251 years of service, sacrifice, and excellence since the founding of the Continental Army in 1775.

From the battlefields of the Revolution to the most modernized and lethal Special Forces in the world, (A) continues to live our motto: De Oppresso Liber.

To all who have worn the uniform—past, present, and future—thank you for defending our Nation.

Yesterday, we closed Red Empire Week 2026 after 4 days of competition, remembrance, family engagement and community outreach, strengthening the bonds that define “La Familia.”

Honoring a Legend - Meadows Range Dedication

Today during Red Empire Week we dedicated the new Meadows Range on Camp Bull Simons in honor of legendary Green Beret Maj. Richard James "Dick" Meadows. Soldiers, families, alumni, and distinguished guests came together for a powerful ceremony full of stories, remembrance, and pride in our heritage.

From his incredible career spanning the 82nd Airborne to foundational Special Forces missions, this range stands as a lasting tribute to his quiet professionalism and marksmanship excellence.

Green Beret for a Day - Red Empire Week 2026!

Kids got to live the dream today during Green Beret for a Day at the Whitaker O-Course on Camp Bull Simons. They tackled the obstacle course, crushed a scavenger hunt, tried their hand at shooting, and got a real taste of what it takes to be part of the Red Empire.

Seeing the next generation running, climbing, and smiling alongside our Green Berets was pure La Familia energy. Moments like this are what Red Empire Week is all about.

Soccer Tournament - Red Empire Week 2026!

Battalion teams took over the pitch today for the soccer tournament during Red Empire Week. The pace was high, the footwork was sharp, and the goals kept coming as everyone competed hard and had a blast representing their units.

Events like this are pure La Familia — building bonds, celebrating our shared heritage, and reminding us why we train and fight together. Lo Que Sea, Cuando Sea, Donde Sea.
