PRESS RELEASE: An aircraft incident occurred with a F-15, today around 9:30 A.M. during takeoff. The incident site is contained within the base fenceline.

Emergency response personnel arrived immediately and contained the scene. No personnel were injured. The safety and well-being of all Team Eielson personnel, Red Flag-Alaska participants, and the community remain our top priority.

Mission meets heritage.

Recently, the 354th Fighter Wing hosted a cultural educational event that connected traditional Athabascan place names on the installation to the Tanana Valley cultural history. The place name signs will be installed at different locations on base and at Birch Lake.

The Air Force remains committed to building strong relationships with the communities we serve by fostering transparency, open communication and active engagement.

Passing the guidon at the 18th FIS! 🇺🇸

This past Friday marked a transition for the 354th Fighter Wing as we bid farewell to Lt. Col. Nathan Mondul and welcomed Maj. Harrison Gebs as the new commander of the 18th Fighter Interceptor Squadron.

Thank you, Lt. Col. Mondul, for your exceptional leadership and for advancing our homeland defense mission in the Arctic! ❄
