💙 A Special Recognition for Our Promising Futures Team! 💙

In honor of National Nonprofit Day 2026, our Promising Futures staff were honored to receive Certificates of Recognition from San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson!

Our team was recognized for their compassion, continued dedication to individualized care and community wellbeing, and commitment to creating an accepting environment for those we serve.

At Promising Futures, everything we do is a team effort. Every day, our staff show up for our members—encouraging independence, creating meaningful experiences, building connections, and providing opportunities for each person to learn, grow, and thrive. 💙

We would also like to give a very special thank you to Jesus, a representative from Supervisor Joel Anderson’s office, who took the time to personally present these recognitions to our staff and spend time meeting our team and our PFI family. We truly appreciate you helping make this recognition even more meaningful!

Based right here in San Diego, Meadiocrity Mead creates award-winning mead made with raw honey, using a unique Bee-to-Bottle approach and working with local farmers and ranchers to showcase the incredible flavors our region has to offer. 🐝🍯

Our members love spending time in our sensory room—a calming and engaging space filled with different sights, sounds, textures, and activities that encourage sensory exploration, relaxation, and fun. Whether they’re taking a quiet break or discovering something that catches their attention, the sensory room gives each member the opportunity to enjoy the space in their own way.

At Promising Futures, every day brings different opportunities to learn, explore, connect, and grow. 🌟

🧼✨ Soap Making Day in the Art Studio! ✨🧼

No two days look the same at Promising Futures, and that’s part of what makes each day so special! Today brought a new opportunity for our members to get hands-on, try something different, and enrich their day through a fun soap-making activity.

Our members enjoyed every step of the process—from carefully chopping the soap pieces with safe plastic utensils to choosing their colors and scents and creating a soap that was uniquely their own. 🫧🎨

A special thank you to Regina and Tanner for guiding our members every step of the way and making the experience fun, engaging, and accessible for everyone! 💙

Each day at PFI is a new opportunity to create, explore, learn, and experience something new. 🌟

A few of our members recently enjoyed a fun day exploring the San Diego Natural History Museum (The Nat)! 🦖🌿🦋
San Diego Natural History Museum

From fascinating fossils and prehistoric discoveries to the plants, animals, and ecosystems of Southern California and the Baja California Peninsula, there was so much to see, discover, and learn. Our members also got to sit back and enjoy one of the films playing at the museum! 🎥🍿

We also want to give a huge THANK YOU to The Nat for generously donating four guest passes to our Turn the Page Art Show Raffle! 🎨💙

Located in Balboa Park, The Nat has been connecting our community with the natural world since 1874, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued commitment to creating opportunities for people to explore and learn.

It makes their support even more meaningful knowing firsthand how much our members enjoy experiences like this. We are so excited to include this amazing San Diego experience in our raffle and grateful to The Nat for supporting Promising Futures and our community.

📚 BOOKS NEEDED! 📚

We’re getting ready for our upcoming Turn the Page Art Show, and we need your help bringing our vision to life! 🎨📖

PFI is collecting books that our artists can transform into art installations, creative projects, and unique display décor for the show. We’re accepting almost any book with a spine, with vintage, antique-looking, neutral, academic-style, thick, or oversized books especially appreciated!

Books can be donated or loaned, and as an extra thank-you, every 10 books donated or loaned earns a raffle entry! 🎟️

Have some books collecting dust? Give them a new chapter and help our artists turn the page into something creative! 💛

🍦 Ice cream sundaes make everything a little sweeter! Our participants had so much fun building their own creations with all their favorite toppings. A simple activity filled with plenty of smiles, creativity, and of course—a sweet treat to enjoy! 🍨☀️

Special thanks to Alex and Tanner for braving the heat and scooping up all the tasty treats for everyone! We appreciate our amazing staff for always helping make moments like these possible. 💛

A special thank you to Pamo Valley Winery for supporting our upcoming Turn the Page – Annual Art Show & Fundraiser! ✨

Located in Ramona, California, Pamo Valley Winery is a local winery offering guests the opportunity to enjoy locally crafted wines and the beauty of San Diego County’s wine country.

They have generously donated two tasting flights to be included in one of our raffle baskets for the event! 🎟️🍷
