Helix Water District is repairing an emergency water leak that requires the temporary closure of S. Lincoln Ave. between Main Street and Lexington Avenue.

The roadway is expected to reopen by approximately 2:30 p.m. today. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and avoid the area while repairs are underway.

Today marked an exciting milestone for the City of El Cajon as Engine 208 officially entered service. The brand-new engine adds nine new Fire Department positions and expands our ability to respond quickly and effectively across the community. We look forward to seeing Engine 208 and its crews serving El Cajon for years to come.

Last week, we recognized and thanked the dedicated Public Works professionals who help keep our community safe, clean, and running smoothly every day. Public Works crews are often the first to arrive and the last to leave, working behind the scenes to maintain streets, sewers, storm water channels, public facilities, City vehicles, and essential city services.
