We would like to welcome and introduce four new firefighters to the El Centro Fire Department🚒🔥
👨‍🚒Max Ongay, Leonardo Zamora, Isaac Estrada, Draven Yarnell.👨‍🚒 Our new firefighters will begin a six week academy where they will train in all aspects of the profession, including physical fitness💪🏽, manipulative skills🧯 and tool knowledge⚒️.
The academy will prepare them for their one-year probationary period and help build the foundation for a successful career in the El Centro fire department 🚒

Hard work and team work are essential to be successful.🔥

Recently, four of our firefighters participated in a Rope Rescue Operations course in Chula Vista 🧗‍♂️, sharpening critical skills used in technical rescue situations. Training included rope rescue equipment 🪢, anchor systems , lowering systems, mechanical advantage setups ⚙️, ladder rescues , and low/high-angle rescue operations 🚨.

At El Centro Fire Department 🚒, we are committed to continuous training 📚 and professional development 👨‍🚒 to ensure we provide the highest quality service to our community🔥.

“I joined the fire service because I wanted to follow in my dad’s footsteps. Seeing him in uniform as a kid always fascinated me, and I knew this was something I wanted to do. With my uncle and cousin also serving in the fire service, I wanted to continue the family tradition.” 👏

Members of our association had the opportunity to attend FDIC International 2026 in Indianapolis 🔥🚒

Through hands-on training 🛠️, live fire evolutions 🔥, and workshops 📚, they gained valuable experience in search & rescue 🧑‍🚒, forcible entry 🚪, hose advancement 💧, EV fires 🔋, officer classes 🎖️, prop building 🏗️, technical rescue ⛑️and many more classes.

This knowledge comes back with us—strengthening our training, tactics, and service to the community 💪🚨
