On Saturday, April 18th, guest speaker Erin Wakida gave an informative Fall Prevention talk that featured exercises to keep seniors safe and steady.
Steve Lipson of ElderTech Academy was also on hand to demonstrate the latest advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Sakura Kai Taiko was on hand to energize participants at the annual Berkeley Crop Walk. Funds support local charities that fight hunger and promote local food programs.

Sakura Kai classes are canceled on April 4th due to the Easter holiday.
Sakura Kai Taiko and Koto musician Shirley Kazuyo Muramoto performed for a Cherry Blossom Fest at Las Positas College in Livermore.

Annual Bonenkai luncheon with a delicious 10-course Chinese meal, cake from Hopkins Bakery, and a special visit from Santa and his trusty elf assistant! Kudos to all the volunteers who helped organize this holiday event.

Sakura Kai members attended and even spoke at the recent "Rise and Resist" rally at the former Tanforan Assembly Center by the San Bruno BART station.
Mike Ishii, Executive Director of Tsuru for Solidarity reminded everyone of their collective strength and power they have as survivors and descendants and inspired them to take that strength and fight back, “When we fight back, we win.”

Sakura Kai in the Community!
Sakura Kai talent was well represented at J-Sei's Family Festival. For our Beginning Taiko students, it was their first public performance! J-Sei Singers (including many Sakura Kai members) partnered with Daruma no Gakko students for an intergenerational sing along. The Sentimental Strummers Ukulele group included familiar Sakura Kai faces, and Sunnie Youk was a spirited hip-hop dancer!
