In my latest National Prosperity newsletter on Substack, I am proposing a total Green Prosperity based transformation of the US Economy. This is a major part of my six part proposed plan for the US economy that I published in my previous newsletter. If the fossil fuel lobby can be overcome, the US can unlock its innovative potential to have plenty of green energy for its expanding needs, become more globally competitive, AND create widespread prosperity in most of its population. Climate change is leading to much worsening natural disasters like wildfires, heat waves, worsening tornadoes and catastrophic floods. But the energy solutions to climate change also provide the biggest economic opportunity of the twenty first century. If the US can get its act together, it can not only solve its own economic and energy problems, but turn around to lead the world and help to make it happen globally. I have been championing solutions to climate change since 1992 when I pressured the US government to sign the global warming treaty. Jog, bike, take transit and get out of your cars as much as you can. I am 78 years old but I still jog and dance vigorously! Here am I jogging in the east bay of San Francisco, Where many folks walk, jog and bike. Above me you can see the guideway for BART, the Bay Area Rapid Transit system that runs in most of the San Francisco metropolitan area. Lower pollution and greenhouse gas emissions help everyone and are great for your health!

Lamba Report on Small Modular Nuclear Reactors concluded that these are expensive, time consuming and with long term radioactive waste concerns!! The town is going to be stuck with a $2 billion tax bill.
In February 2026 I conducted a study of Small Modular Nuclear Reactors (SMRs). The type of reactor headed to Wyoming uses molten sodium to take the heat from the nuclear reaction to make steam that runs electricity. It uses a HALEU (High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium) fuel that is different from that used in large nuclear reactors. Data from a US Energy Information Agency 2024 report showed that the SMR reactors of this type are about 4-10 times more expensive than solar electric power plants, take much longer to install, have security risks, and the spent radioactive nuclear fuel will need to be stored onsite since the US still does not have a storage site for such spent fuel. To speed up the process, the Trump Administration has said that they will exclude SMRs from the requirements of NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act), which requires a proper environmental review. Not good!!

Urban wildfires have become more common as global heating worsens. The Paradise, California fire was super devastating and caught the town off guard. The Boulder, Colorado wildfire occurred in winter! The Pacific Palisades wildfire near Los Angeles, California occurred in a beautiful coastal community, and exceeded the infrastructure and fire fighting resources of the area. Now comes Spokane, Washington State that has devastated a city of about half a million people. The stories coming out of France and Spain this year are similar. California is very vulnerable again. When will our leaders respond to the climate emergency? When will we be able to neutralize the fossil fuel companies and nations?

As emergency responders in Spokane, Wash., take stock of the damage from devastating wildfires, there’s a prevailing sense the disaster could have been far worse.

Just look at the data. Job growth was very robust upto 2024 under Biden and has slumped under Trump. “I will give you high economic growth shouted Trump” in his first term. Instead GDP growth was down to 2.1% first quarter of this year, and has slumped to 1.5% in the second quarter. Inflation was about 3% under Biden, but recently had spiked up to 4.2% before decreasing to about 3.5% in June. Lower incomes and higher prices. Trade deficit widened too, and low manufacturing employment, in spite of Trump’s tariff wars. Everything the opposite of what he promised!

Here am I at Capitola beach just south of Santa Cruz, California. Oceans were where life exploded in the coral reefs. We need to protect and restore ocean ecosystems. I’m proposing we add coastal protection ecosystems like oyster reefs, eelgrass and mangrove swamps along the entire US non-ice coastline. Let’s revitalise life in the oceans!
