Reminder for Members with Prepay Accounts:

Beginning August 11, 2026, prepay accounts with insufficient funds will be disconnected daily at 10:00 a.m. instead of 3:00 p.m. This change will allow more time for payments to be made by the end of each business day. It will also give our crews the opportunity to respond during normal business hours if any issues arise with meters not turning on after a payment has been submitted.

We appreciate your understanding as we make this change to better serve you.

Earlier this year, Cameron Hargrove, a teacher with the El Dorado Springs R-2 School, was selected by Sac Osage Electric Cooperative to attend the Energy in Today’s Classroom program. This is the first teacher delegated by Sac Osage Electric Cooperative to ever attend this program.

Cameron, along with other teachers from across Missouri, explored how energy is produced, delivered and used during the 14th annual Energy in Today’s Classroom program, held July 29–30, in Jefferson City. Hosted by Central Electric Power Cooperative, the two-day workshop provided 15 hours of professional development for the 37 participating educators.

Attendees learned about energy fundamentals, the economics of energy, electric vehicles, energy demand and residential solar. They also completed a hands-on circuitry project and toured a Central Electric substation near St. Martins and the University of Missouri’s Combined Cooling, Heat and Power Plant in Columbia.

Each teacher received educational materials and a $500 scholarship for teaching tools to help bring energy lessons to life for students in their classrooms. The lessons can be adapted for students of all ages.

The next Energy in Today’s Classroom program will be held July 28–29, 2027. Teachers within Sac Osage Electric Cooperative service area that are interested in participating should contact Chance Cyr by calling 417-876-2721 or by email [email protected] for details.
