On this 25th anniversary of September 11, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and honor the firefighters, paramedics and other first responders who ran toward danger to help others. Their courage, sacrifice and commitment to service continue to inspire firefighters everywhere. We will always remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We recently completed our 2026 El Dorado Fire Department Essentials School. Seven Butler Fire student residents and 10 part-time firefighters completed 48 hours of training. Topics covered included personal protective equipment, fire suppression, search and rescue, ladders and firefighter safety. These skills were put to the test under live fire conditions on the final day. All of the students demonstrated perseverance and a good understanding of the topics. We are excited to see their further growth.
