If nominated, this will be a great opportunity to get a start before the election. Putting my name in as I hope many do honestly. It is a chance to have input for the people and cook up a better El Dorado.

The City of El Dorado is currently accepting resumes for the position of City Council Member, Ward 2, Position 1, following the resignation of Council Member Vance Williamson, effective April 30th.

If you are a resident of Ward 2 and have a desire to serve your community, we encourage you to apply. This is a valuable opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help shape the future of our city.

Interested individuals may submit a resume to Mayor Choate at City Hall no later than April 30, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Applicants must reside within Ward 2 to be eligible.

The City Council will hold a Special Called Meeting on May 5, 2026, at 5:15 p.m. to hear from applicants and make an appointment. The individual selected will serve the remainder of the term, which expires December 31, 2026.

For those unable to attend the city council meeting, take a listen and see for yourself the things we need to work on and habits that need to be broken and things that are going on in our city. Rev Charles laid out a great presentation in voter turnout, and that is key information. Things won't change if the people don't vote for it, that's how we can try to progress and make what changes that are needed.

Good morning everyone! Just a reminder today is the last day for primary voting at the auditorium. They do have extended hours today from 7:30-7:30. If you are able, get out and vote to try and make the difference that you want to make. Any questions, feel free to reach out.

Afternoon everyone. Here is an update in next council meeting. They moved it to early Thursday morning. Attend if you can, always good to see how it works.

The El Dorado City Council’s Water and Public Works Committee will meet Feb. 26 to vote on a council ordinance and review a baseball stadium agreement and local contracts.
