May is Staff Appreciation Month. EMRAS celebrated with its staff by giving an EMRAS tote bag, an EMRAS shirt and a BASEBALL themed all staff luncheon and dinner. EMRAS also celebrated three of our staff who are retiring. They are Norma Valenzuela, Michael Steimer, and Miriam Pix. Congratulations!! Thank you staff for all your hard work and dedication to our students.

Today, EMRAS held its annual Wellness Wednesday Fair as part of May’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Students and staff participated in more than ten different activity stations organized throughout the event. Several community mental health agencies were present to provide valuable information and resources to all attendees.

The EMPD came to EMRAS with students who are in their T.O.R.C.H. program. The students toured the school and EMRAS CTE staff and counselors told them about various CTE programs that EMRAS offers. Thank you everyone for displaying and explaining the programs to these potential future adult ed students.

Today, EMRAS hosted their first College and Career Fair. Local colleges and job recruiters shared information with our students about educational and employment opportunities. Students from our High School Diploma Program, CTE, and ESL participated and attended the fair. Thank you EMRAS counselors for planning, organizing and putting the fair together.

EMRAS students and staff enjoyed this week’s activities for Adult Ed Week. This week included a student appreciation BBQ, Scholastic Book Fair, Multicultural Fashion and Talent show, school tours, student raffles for gift certificates and Spring Baskets. Spring Greetings from students and staff at EMRAS. We will be celebrating Adult Ed Week starting today and ending on Friday. This year’s theme is “Bridging Cultures Through Lifelong Learning”. This week’s activities include, a student appreciation BBQ, multi cultural fashion and talent show, scholastic book fair, school tours and a school wide writing activity about the value of adult education.
