Five-Year Remembrance 🙏🏽🕊️

Today marks the five-year remembrance of the Sierra Incident, a tragic day that forever changed our fire family.
 
We pay tribute to fallen Fire Fighter Specialist Tory Carlon, whose courage, commitment, and ultimate sacrifice will always be remembered. We also keep Fire Captain Arnie Sandoval and the Carlon family in our thoughts and prayers.
 
Tory’s watch ended…but his bravery never wavered.  He is greatly missed by all of us – and he will never be forgotten.

This Memorial Day, LA County Firefighters Local 1014 honors the courageous servicemen and women who gave their lives in defense of our nation.

Their sacrifice embodies the highest ideals of duty, honor, and selfless service, values that resonate deeply within the fire service and our union brotherhood and sisterhood.

As we gather with our families and communities, we pause to remember the fallen heroes who never made it home and the loved ones who carry their legacy forward each day.

We will never forget.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day! This weekend, we hope you’ll take a moment to say thank you to the in your life. From biological moms to foster moms, grandmothers, and mentors – we thank you for your love and support.

This year, Mother’s Day also falls on International Firefighters’ Day, and we’re especially proud to recognize the incredible moms who serve as firefighters, as well as the mothers who support them. Your strength, sacrifice, and care—on and off duty—do not go unnoticed.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of one of our fire family. 💔

Our Local 1014 family is devastated. We ask you to please support Brother Felipe Marcial and his family as they navigate this unimaginable loss and the unexpected costs of funeral services.

Tommy was someone who loved deeply—his passion for cars, his dog Dodge, and the many animals he cared for brought him immense joy. His kindness and big heart touched everyone who knew him.

Any donation, prayer, or share will help honor Tommy’s life and give him the peaceful goodbye he deserves.

We also hope Tommy’s story serves as a reminder to check in on one another. Mental health struggles are often silent, and no one should have to face them alone. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out—help is always available.

2026 Bear Classic 🥎🧢🐻🚒

It was a great day for the LACoFD Bear Classic at the West Covina Sportsplex. A huge thank you to Fire Fighter Ruben Ortiz II, IAFF Local 1014, and Benefit and Welfare for making this year’s tournament possible.

It was a great day for camaraderie, strengthening bonds on and off the field, and enjoying some friendly competition.
