In El Paso, healing and resistance are not opposites; they are defining strengths of our community. On the seventh anniversary of the August 3, 2019 mass shooting, El Pasoans from all walks of life stood united to show the nation that we are stronger than fear, stronger than hate, and stronger than division. 🕊️

The August 3, 2019 mass shooting revealed the devastating consequences of dehumanizing language and false narratives targeting immigrants and border communities.

We must continue to reject fear-based rhetoric and reaffirm our commitment to preventing violence by challenging harmful public discourse and unjust policies.

El Paso must continue to lead with dignity, compassion, and a shared responsibility to build safer, more inclusive communities for all.

This memorial is more than a moment of remembrance—it is a call to action. Together, we will honor the victims, support the survivors, and reaffirm our commitment to rejecting white supremacy, xenophobia, and the anti-immigrant rhetoric that continues to threaten our communities.



En El Paso, la sanación y la resistencia no son opuestas; son fortalezas que definen a nuestra comunidad.

En este séptimo aniversario del tiroteo masivo del 3 de agosto de 2019, los paseños y las paseñas de todos los ámbitos de la vida nos unimos para demostrarle al país que somos más fuertes que el miedo, más fuertes que el odio y más fuertes que la división. 🕊️

Today, we honor the day when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their emancipation, and we recognize the generations who fought tirelessly for liberty and opportunity.

As we celebrate Black history, culture, and contributions, we also reflect on the work that remains to ensure freedom, dignity, and equality for all. Let us honor the legacy of those who came before us by continuing to build a more just and inclusive future.

El en la frontera tiene un significado distinto. 🫂

Durante casi nueve años, BNHR, a través de , ha sido testigo de algunos de los momentos más poderosos de amor y resiliencia: madres abrazando a sus hijos después de años separados, familias reuniéndose entre lágrimas, sonrisas y esperanza. ❤️‍🩹

Estos momentos nos recuerdan que detrás de cada debate migratorio hay familias. Madres. Hijos e hijas. Personas que continúan amándose a través de las fronteras, a pesar de los muros, la distancia, la detención y la separación.

En este Día de las Madres, honramos la fuerza, el sacrificio y la valentía de las madres en nuestras comunidades fronterizas y más allá. Honramos a cada madre que ha luchado por mantener unida a su familia, a cada madre que continúa amando desde la distancia y a cada familia que espera el día en que pueda abrazarse libremente de nuevo. 🌹

El amor de una madre no conoce fronteras — y la dignidad, la compasión y la humanidad tampoco deberían conocerlas.
