The Contract Opportunities Center is an Apex Accelerator, formerly known as a Procurement Technical Assistance Center that serves businesses within the El Paso, Texas area since 1986 when the US Department of Defense awarded a cooperative agreement to the El Paso Community College. Through this cooperative agreement, the Contract Opportunities Center is able to provide technical and specialized tr
aining to individuals and businesses pursuing government contracting whether through local, state, or federal agencies. At the Contract Opportunities Center, the Procurement Specialists assist clients with the following:
• SAM registration,
• SBA Dynamic Small Business Search profile
• Federal/state certifications (Women-Owned, Veteran-Owned, HubZone, Texas HUB & DBE)
• Marketing to the government
• Responding effectively to bid proposals,
• Researching strategies for accessing federal, state, and local government markets,
• Understanding government regulations, and
• Understanding advantages of teaming & joint venture agreements. In addition, The Contract Opportunities Center offers a Bid Matching service with an annual fee of $25 that automatically searches 75,000 procurement websites, matching keywords provided by the client with bid solicitations, sending results directly to the client's email.
