On Aug. 15, 2026, an injured hiker was rescued from the steep slopes of the Franklin Mountains by Border Patrol's Special Operations Detachment Unit, Air and Marine Operations, and El Paso's Combined Search and Rescue team.

The individual was stranded on hazardous terrain after a severe fall. The team deployed specialized Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques (HRST) to perform a high-altitude hoist, successfully airlifting the patient out of the rugged area and transferring them to emergency medical services.

Our rescue teams are always ready to answer the call.
