A teacher takes a hand, touches a mind, and touches a heart.

The most important function of education at any level is to develop the personality of the individual and the significant of their life and to the others. Thank you to all the teachers for dedicating yourself in helping our future leaders explore and become the brilliant minds they all are. You all are superheroes!

This morning, I got to visit a few of our community superheroes.

Children are truly our best hope for the future, Feliz Día de Niño!

In celebration of their day, I was able to meet with some children around our community in hope to remind them that they are our most valuable resource. They are our future leaders who will become teachers, counselors, police officers, fire fighters, union leaders, doctors, mothers, fathers. We must encourage them everyday to be their best!

Dear Attorneys and Public.

Please note that we are in the process of getting all of our computers, emails and
telephones set up. My staff is working diligently to provide you the best service you all
deserve.

In order to reduce the backlog of cases pending in the 388th District and Associate Court
(approximately 2,300 cases pending), we will need to set these cases for a judges’ conference/dismissal hearing starting the second week of January 2021 or as soon as we are set up.

It may also be necessary to continue many of the cases presently scheduled to be heard in
January 2021 with either the District Court Judge of the 388th or the Associate Judge to
enable us to schedule these judge’s conference / dismissal hearings as soon as possible.

If you have an emergency matter, please contact Al Alderete – 388th Court Coordinator or
Carmen Avitia (Associate Court Coordinator).
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to you and your clients.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

💙 ¡Ganamos! We won! I say we, because this is a victory for all El Pasoans and the beginning of a bright new day for the 388th 💙

Families and their efforts were not in vain. I want to thank the citizens of El Paso for coming out and showing tremendous support and voting for me. I am humbled by the position that you, Honorable citizens El Paso have entrusted me with. I will not betray that trust. I will institute procedures in the 388th that will guarantee a streamlined process, less costly process, and one that is fair to every family that comes in front of me. This I promise. ¡Gracias a todos!

I believe that my personal convictions distinguish me and set me apart from the incumbent. I am an ethical, hard-working, and compassionate person. I have moral values that have sustained me throughout a successful career.

My work ethic and experience have allowed me to overcome many obstacles, but I have learned to remain calm, cool, and collected during trial and challenging times.

To reiterate, I am prepared to be District Judge of the 388th and make difficult decisions while upholding the law to the fullest extent. I am ready to pull back all the layers to get to the truth and to get in the trenches to make lawful rulings. 💙🙏🏼

I humbly ask for your Vote ✅1️⃣7️⃣

#MarleneFor388Judge

I am running to be the next Judge of the 388th District Court, I want to bring trust and justice to the Courtroom. The 388th District Court is a family court in El Paso County, Texas. I have the experience, the passion and the commitment to be your next Judge for this Court.

Too many cases pending in that Court. Cases are taking to adjudicate years, not enough time devoted to resolve the cases assigned to that Court. The actual back up system does not work creating false expectations to litigants and practitioners. There is no need for back up system if efficiency and accountability is restore to that court. The majority of the cases in the back up system court be reset many times 3,4 or up to 5 times. JUSTICE DELAY IS JUSTICE DENIED.!! Thats is Ms Gonzalez’ motto. Beside the unfairness of the adjudication of the cases. El Paso deserve accountability and dependability in a transparent court system that is efficient. I am committed to bring justice to the families during the most delicate and crucial times in their lives-those families touched by divorces and other sensitive matters that are of an urgent nature. I believe that for any court to succeed, a judge must lead with fairness and impartiality even if that means ruling against friends and colleagues, and acquaintances. Justice shall prevail and should come second to none. We must always be vigilant and guard institutions, our court, against any evil. I am prepared to protect and uphold those principles. El Paso deserve better and I am better. I am a new opponent in this race and I come with new and fresh ideas to revamp the 388th Court. I look forward to practicing family law to the fullest extend. I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of El Paso families.

If elected as the next Judge of the 388th District Family Court, I will clean up the docket in the 388th with Honesty, compassion and courage. The way I live my life, the way I practice law, the way I have mothered my children, the way I am at home, the way I am with the courts, always reflect these values.
You have my vote for certain! FORZA Marlene!!!
Supporting Marlene Gonzalez!
My vote is for Elect Marlene Gonzalez. In 2017, I filed suit against my ex-husband, Mario Rodriguez, after my youngest daughter's 1st and 2nd grade teachers informed me that she displayed signs of ADHD, stress, and had conduct problems. Her conditions were severe especially after coming back from her father's visitation. I was put on notice that she would not pass to the 3rd grade. She would cry for no reason, was unable to sleep, could not retain any information or complete any classwork, and misbehaved. The oldest told me that their father would often beat the youngest one with a belt and scream at her in the mornings for forgetting her glasses, sweater, backpack, etc., (items that were his responsibility to make sure she had) which worsened her conditions, and would use interrogation tactics to discipline them oftentimes keeping the oldest one awake until 2am on school nights "lecturing" her until he received an apology from her. He would head butt the girls and slap the side of their heads. They have experienced abusive conduct from their father from elementary to high school. It took two years for the 388 to hear my case, where I was seeking to limit my ex-husband's visitation. During that time, the 388 managed to have my lawyer disqualified. The 388 denied me a continuation after my lawyer failed to notify me in a timely manner of the disqualification. I proceeded to report 388 Strathmann to the Texas Commission of Judiciary Conduct because it was clear to me during the hearing that she favored my ex-husband's lawyer, Amy Nichols. I felt she was biased against me for being a single mother, a Hispanic female. Ultimately, the 388 denied me due process. I found out about the pocket pal system of the 388 court that Nichols is a part of. I lost custody of the children and was given 50% visitation. I was told I was lucky. I have met a great number of men and women here in El Paso where the 388 has decided to alienate children from their parents by setting visitations to less than standard, has mandated parents to pay enormous amounts of child support even when unemployed, has made decisions, but not signed orders, and has made decisions that are not in the best interest of children- tearing families apart. I was informed that Strathmann is hardly in court usually on vacations, in conferences and seminars. Perhaps, that is why it took her 2 years to adjudicate my case. Please help me support Marlene Gonzalez by ensuring that you are registered to vote and cast your vote in March 2020. My heart breaks each time I see children at the courthouse waiting to meet Strathmann and when I see unsuspecting parents that think that justice will be served and instead are made to regret the initial decision to protect their children. Thank you!
