What is the CRRMA? The Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority (CRRMA) is a transportation agency that was created in March of 2007 to move regional transportation solutions forward as quickly as possible. El Paso is the rapidly growing international gateway not only to Texas and New Mexico, but to the entire United States. Our transportation infrastructure has never been more critical. The El Paso region produces nearly $50 billion in annual international trade activity.* Transportation infrastructure that meets the need of El Paso residents and businesses is crucial to our region's continued growth and economic stability. The goal of the CRRMA is to provide mobility projects that create traffic relief, and safe, reliable interchanges and roadways that keep traffic moving in our region. What projects are being pursued by the CRRMA now? In February 2008, the CRRMA issued $233 million in bonds to expedite the design and construction of the State Spur 601 (Inner Loop) Project. The CRRMA continues as the financing partner for the project, as it nears completion. Also in 2008, the CRRMA became a partner in the $1 billion Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) for the El Paso area, which includes tolled and non-tolled roadways, transit components and aesthetic improvements. The CRRMA is responsible for developing eight projects within the CMP. 1. I-10 at Loop 375 (Americas Interchange) 2. Loop 375 at FM 659 (Zaragoza Direct Connectors) 3.
