During construction on Vista Del Sol between George Dieter and Phil Gibbs, crews uncovered unforeseen conditions beneath the existing roadway that require additional work.

As the old pavement was removed, crews discovered clay in sections of the road foundation, which would create an unstable base for the new roadway. Crews will work to stabilize the foundation and refine the roadway design, including adjustments to traffic lane elevations, to ensure a durable, smooth driving surface.

By addressing these issues now, the City can help prevent premature roadway deterioration and deliver a longer-lasting street. The project remains on track for completion this fall.

During the July 7, 2026 City Council meeting, council approved the use of District 6 and District 8 funds to showcase Pride Square. Thank you to our city departments who promptly worked to find a solution to comply with the Texas State mandate.
