Neat things to do! Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Pow Wow & Rock Fest: The pow wow, with singing and dance contests, native foods, and native arts and crafts, opens at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Speaking Rock Entertainment Center parking lot, 122 S. Old Pueblo Road. $10; free for ages 5 and younger.Free concerts by Red Bone and Keith Secola will be inside Speaking Rock on Saturday night.

Neat things to do! Shakespeare in the Park: The annual festival, staged this year by Eden Enterprises' Shakespeare-on-the-Rocks, will start today through Aug. 29 with performances at 7 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays inside the Chamizal National Memorial Theater, 800 S. San Marcial. $10; $8 for students with ID, military and seniors.

Neat things to do: End of World War II re-enactment: The living history event will be 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the El Paso Museum of History, 510 N. Santa Fe. Re-enactment Groups will stage two small patrol skirmishes, at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in Cleveland Square, and will demonstrate arms and equipment and answer questions. Free. 351-3588.

Had our first FRG orientaion meeting and potluck on Friday. It was a huge success with all of our volunteer positions being filled and great discussions all around. I'm so excited by the enthusiasm everyone showed and I know that we are going to have a great time and get tons accomplished togehter.

For those of you that wonder what all that crazy Army Lingo means, that is Alpha Company, Special Troops Battalion 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Armored Division. THAT is a mouthful! Let's just go with MICO, (short for Military Intelligence Company, pronounced MY-CO)
