We have zero information about COVID testing. The powers that be do not share the testing date and location information with us. If you scheduled a test and it said that your test was supposed to be at our station today, please contact whomever you scheduled your test with in order to find out why there wasn’t testing at our station today. Again... we do not know. We just provide the venue for testing. We do not know where the communication breakdown is but it is outside of our department.

Please do not show up to our station and give our firefighters attitude because your test was supposed to be at our station today. We understand your frustration but it wasn’t our fault. Again, contact the agency that you scheduled your test with and ask them.

Thank you for your understanding.

Montana Vista Fire Rescue would like to express our deepest condolences for the passing of Deputy Pete Herrera. Our thoughts and prayers are with his direct family, as well as his family at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

You would think we wouldn’t have to mention this but you would be surprised how many people decide to illegally burn during weather conditions such as today, so here goes.... please do not burn! Especially during high wind conditions. There is a county wide burn ban for this very reason. Small fires turn into large fires during high wind conditions. We at MVFR have seen it many times. Just don’t do it. Obey the law, obey the burn ban, and stay safe! Report any smoke or fire sightings to 911. Thank you.
