RSVP - Retired and Senior Volunteer Program The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program provides volunteer opportunities for individuals 55 years of age and older. The El Paso program began in December 1974.

Both retired and working people 55 and older are eligible to serve. RSVP provides enrichment for older adults through significant community service work. It encourages seniors to bring a lifetime of talent, experience, skills and hobbies to the community projects and organizations needing volunteer talent. RSVP is part of the Civic Empowerment Division of the Department of Community and Human Deve

lopment. With over 700 volunteer serving in one county; the county of El Paso. There are more than 40 volunteer work stations. Volunteers serve approximately 85,000 hours a year combined. RSVP volunteers serve, without pay, at museums, hospitals, libraries, senior centers, schools, police and sheriff’s departments, agencies serving disabled individuals, and many other non-profit organizations. They work as mentors, tutors, and volunteer coordinators. Volunteers can serve at public and private non-profit organizations or health agencies. Any person, 55 years of age or older who wants to share the benefits of a lifetime of talent is eligible. There are no restrictions based on education, income, or experience. Anyone who wants to feel engaged, active, and appreciated will profit from becoming a part of the RSVP network.
