Today, we celebrate Mrs. Jenny Licon after nearly 21 years of dedicated service to the children and families of our community.
Since joining the Child Crisis Center of El Paso in 2005, Mrs. Jenny has cared for countless children with patience, compassion, and a level of love and dedication that made each child feel like they were her own. Throughout her years with us, she cared for children of all ages, shared her knowledge with countless team members, and was a steady and dependable presence our team could always rely on.
As part of the care we provide to every child who comes through our doors, we work to help them maintain their routines and connections to their community. Mrs. Jenny took particular pride in helping children prepare for their school day and transporting them to and from their local home schools, sometimes traveling nearly an hour to make sure they could continue attending the school they knew.
It is more than a school run for Mrs. Jenny, it was an opportunity to help a child start their day knowing they were safe, cared for, and that their job was simply to be a kid—to go to school, learn, see their friends, and not have to worry about everything else happening around them.
For nearly 21 years, Mrs. Jenny has been part of the village that helps children through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Her impact will live on in the many children she cared for and the people she helped along the way.
Mrs. Jenny, thank you for your years of love, dedication, and service to the children of El Paso. We are incredibly grateful for you and wish you a very happy and well-deserved retirement! ❤️
