Sun Metro’s fixed route features over 59 routes which support close to 17 million bus passenger trips each year. Sun Metro has developed an exciting new transportation system for El Paso, known as a Rapid Transit System (RTS). Locally, the system is called Sun Metro Brio. The City has adopted an aggressive plan to develop this RTS system along four corridors—Alameda Avenue, Mesa Street, Montana Avenue and Dyer Street. The Mesa Street corridor became operational in October 2014. The remaining corridors will follow shortly after. The system is continually pushing forward to develop a stronger mass transit department as it implements the Brio RTS system, while continuing to build new facilities to serve El Paso’s growing community.
