In August 2019, a small nonprofit offering grief services in El Paso was overwhelmed with families in sudden need of support. The organization was the Children's Grief Center of El Paso.
#ChildrensGriefAwarenessDay!
Today is Children's Grief Awareness Day and in recognition of some of our little heroes here in El Paso, we would like to share these tips and best practices when helping a child in grief. We thank the National Alliance for Grieving Children and their 'Be an Everyday Hero' campaign as well as the New York Life Foundation for the supplies for the hero-transformation! If you would like to donate to the Children's Grief Center of El Paso and their mission as the only organization proving bereavement services to grieving children in our community you may do so at

Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas is profoundly saddened by the inexplicable violence that has impacted both El Paso and Dayton this past weekend. The lives of children whose loved ones were killed or injured have changed overnight. The grief, anxiety and trauma is more than any child or teen should have to bear.
We offer prayers to all those affected and will be providing bilingual child grief workbooks and art therapy supplies to our sister center, Children's Grief Center of El Paso. Thank you for supporting the mission of helping children’s hearts heal.
