Today is #GivingTuesday! A global day of giving and your chance to make an impact in the lives of students.

UTEP’s Student Emergency Fund addresses the immediate needs of students experiencing hardship as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

When you make a gift to the Student Emergency Fund you offer UTEP students timely financial support that can help them through a tough time and keep them on track to academic success.

Since March, over $171,000 has been raised for this fund and every dollar has gone to a student in need. We still have an extensive wait list of students facing unemployment, challenges with technology access, rising medical costs, and personal bills for food and housing that may prevent them from continuing their education.

Join this global day of giving and let’s make a difference for our students!

A new research grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will support UTEP’s efforts to increase access to COVID-19 testing for populations disproportionately affected by the pandemic.

UTEP is one of 55 institutions that received an NIH award through the Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics Underserved Populations (RADx-UP) program. It supports research that aims to better understand COVID-19 testing patterns among underserved and vulnerable populations; strengthen the data on disparities in infection rates, disease progression and outcomes; and develop strategies to reduce the disparities in COVID-19 testing.
