~ Susana Reza, Executive Director (EPHSI), a private non-profit organization has been providing social services in El Paso County since 1984, and additionally in Presidio, Culberson, Jeff Davis, Brewster, and Hudspeth counties since 1990. EPHSI provides a variety of service

s to Child Protective Services under Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) funded contracts as well as Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) contracts. EPHSI has extensive experience in developing, implementing and executing state, federal and city/county funded contracts and has worked for the last 25 years in collaboration with federal, state, and local agencies in order to better serve our clients in this region. EPHSI provided services to 3,500 youth in El Paso County through programs providing support services to abused and neglected youth as well as juvenile delinquency prevention projects.

El Paso Human Services, Inc. is currently assisting to house persons ages 50+ who are chronically homeless and have a disabling condition. We are getting referrals from El Paso Coordinated Entry and are working with landlords to find safe and affordable apartments. However we need the public’s help to get basic furniture such as dinettes, small sofas, and beds. Small appliances, dishes, and cookware are also needed. If you have any of these or other furniture in good condition and you would like to donate, please message us here and we will contact you. Thank you.

This Sunday through Wednesday, Yofi the Brave Books cat will be giving away 100 NEW children’s books (for ages 3 – 😎.

The details:
• Sunday, Dec. 27 thru Wednesday, Dec. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or till the books run out, we’ll have dozens extra just in case)
• Limit 2 children per adult, one free book per child
• Books will be spread out on the Brave Books Porch
• Masks required and social distancing will be managed
• Read, read and read some more! 😊

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank

We have expanded our distribution sites throughout El Paso to better serve your needs starting Tuesday, March 24, 2020!

We are asking community members who are in need of food assistance to PLEASE go to the distribution point closest to their home.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to help us with distributing and assembling emergency food boxes! We need to recruit 80 volunteers (40 per shift AM and PM) per day as quickly as possible. Volunteers need to be in good health and a minimum of 16 years old. EPFH has implemented a health and hygiene protocol to keep volunteers safe. Community members who are able to volunteer can sign up at https://elpasoansfightinghunger.org/details/donate/donate-time-volunteer or by contacting our Volunteer Coordinator, Miranda Chapman, at 915-247-0257 or by email at [email protected].

People who cannot volunteer are strongly encouraged to assist EPFH with monetary donations by going to elpasoansfightinghunger.org/donate or by text message by texting FeedingElPaso to 243725. $1 equates to 7 meals.
