It also trains NCOs of our sister services and global allies. The U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy was founded in July 1972 and graduated its first students in 1973. In March 2020 the institution became the NCO Leadership Center of Excellence. The SGM-A is a part of the CoE. Since its humble beginnings, the institution now tou8ches more than 390,000 annually from various NCOPDS courses, and continually adapts to meet the needs of our nation's defense. MG Lonnie Hibbard and CSM Scott Beeson, CIMT, spent the morning of May 11 talking to the students of SMC Class 71. The general outlined the training at basic training and how they are trying to change the fitness culture of recruits from day one. When it comes to Soldiers, Hibbard said, “You own your physical fitness.” It is a personal responsibility. He added that “We have to change the culture,” concerning being fit.
Hibbard discussed the why behind the ACFT and addressed the effects of a yearlong COVID pandemic saying, “Basically our Army in general is out of shape.” When talking about Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Hibbard said, “H2F is a team effort and includes our families.” We all must be on board. #ByExample #NCOLCoE U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command | U.S. Army Combined Arms Center | Army University

We would like to take this moment to apologize for a miscommunication. We were made aware that beneficiaries were being turned away from Stout Gym when submitting their vaccination information to be counted.
Beneficiaries and DoD employees who were vaccinated off post, can most certainly go to Stout Gym and have their records updated. The misunderstanding has been corrected, and you should have no issues. Please let us know if you continue to have any issues.
What happens when you show up with your COVID vaccine card?
You will be expected to fill out forms DD Forrm 2870 and DHA Form 207. You can download these forms from our website at https://william-beaumont.tricare.mil/Getting-Care/COVID-19/COVID-19-Vaccinations and have them pre-filled to help save you some time. These forms will be accessible at our vaccine sites.
If you need assistance filling them out, staff at the vaccination sites are more than happy to help you.
Can you take your vaccine card (and forms) to Freedom Crossing site?
Yes you can! Unfortunately, there is no internet at our FC site, but they can take your forms and turn them in to Stout Gym at the end of the day.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this miscommunication may have cause, and please continue to let us know of any issues you may have with your healthcare.

The most immediate way through the oscillating COVID-19 cycle is by getting vaccinated. We have plenty of capacity for Soldiers, Families, and Civilians to receive the vaccine.

-Observing a decrease in positive cases will allow for the conditions to change.
-As we see an increase in the vaccinated population, and assuming this will decrease transmission of the virus, we can expect a relaxation of the restrictions for installation personnel.
-Our community numbers are at a plateau, in order to affect the plateau and ultimately lower infections vaccination is the way.
-We have ample supply of the vaccine and have expanded opportunities, and will continue to do so, to receive vaccinations.
-Expanding opportunities for vaccination through mobile vaccination teams in an effort to make it easier for those who want to be vaccinated can do so as quickly as possible.

-UPDATE: Vaccination clinic now open at Freedom Crossing (next to Military Clothing Sales) from 1000-1330 Tuesday through Saturday! Walk-ins welcome, no appointment needed!

-Stout Gym vaccination site call 915-742-2273 or make an appointment on www.tricareonline.com.

Our Story

On 22 June 2018 the Sergeants Major Academy effectively changed its name to the NCO Leadership Center of Excellence (NCOL COE). Likewise, the URL to our website has been changed to http://ncolcoe.armylive.dodlive.mil/

The U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy was founded in July 1972, as a special preparation source for the Army's senior enlisted leaders. Throughout its more than 46-year history, the Academy has taken on additional missions in the name of Noncommissioned Officer Professional Military Education. Today, with more than 24 missions under its roof, a need arose to better organize the institution to manage these missions and to refocus the Academy's efforts towards the Sergeants Major Course. On June 22, The NCO Leadership Center of Excellence officially stood up and assumed the responsibilities of the NCO Professional Development System, becoming the premier institution driving innovative development for enlisted leaders, constantly focused on readiness. The USASMA is a part of that system and will continue to lead all efforts concerning the Sergeants Major Course assisting the NCOL CoE in developing, integrating and delivering education and training readiness.

The NCO Leadership Center of Excellence (formerly the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy) is acknowledged by military and civilian organizations as the world's premiere institution for the education of noncommissioned officers. It is an accredited academic institution, and is a aligned under Army University and the Combined Arms Command, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, with additional reporting to Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Eustis, Virginia. The NCOL CoE drives change for Noncommissioned Officer and Enlisted Soldier education by providing professional military education that develops enlisted leaders to meet the challenges of an increasingly complex world; and develops leaders who are fit, disciplined, and well educated. The NCOL CoE also trains the NCOs of our sister services and global allies.
