Dear conservative girls and women, don’t fall for it.
They’re rebranding “tradwife” to sell you feminism without the freedom to escape if needed or wanted.
I’ve seen several conservative women gloat about how Erika Kirk was going to single-handedly end feminism. Erika FREAKING Kirk.
The same Erika Kirk who had 3 college degrees and a multimillion dollar business before getting married and having children.
The same Erika Kirk who didn’t get married or have children until her 30s. The same Erika Kirk who almost immediately took over her husband’s multimillion dollar business after his death.
The Erika Kirk that never stopped traveling for her job when she got married or had kids. The Erika Kirk who married a man younger than her that she viewed as able to keep up with her hustle.
That Erika Kirk is ending feminism?
Nah, she’s not killing feminism. She’s rebranding it with blonde extensions, an American flag, a glam squad and full-time behind the scenes child care.
Erika Kirk is selling you the same feminist dream while hiding the invisible labor under the rug. She’s giving you feminism without the outward liberal talking points, and she’s doing it with a well-rested smile because she has something you don’t—millions of dollars and help.
The “tradwives” you follow online are selling you feminism that’s dressed up as yesteryear nostalgia.
Nara Smith isn’t waking up in the middle of the night to make Lucky cough drops. She’s a supermodel filming content to sell you something impossible to achieve.
It’s impossible because you’re not a 6 foot tall biracial Black woman with cheekbones that touch the gods working as a supermodel, married to another supermodel.
Ballerina Farms isn’t a tradwife. She’s selling you the idea of simplicity and old time ways while literally working full time as a content creator. She’s a sales woman.
Ballerina Farms is a business name, not one chosen lovingly by parents who waited 9 months to see her face. You can’t have what Ballerina Farms has because you didn’t drop out of Juilliard to marry a billionaire and move to another country to raise your children.
There’s nothing wrong with being a tradwife if that’s the life you choose but don’t expect Jeremy from high school who’s going to school to be a plumber is going to give you the life that any of these women have.
Plumbers make good money and many of them are good men (and women) but they’re not millionaire podcasters, supermodels or JetBlue owners.
You won’t be making content full time and if you do that money will be used to help with bills.
If Jeremy the plumber from high school says he wants a tradwife because he’s a trad husband, you should know what that means.
Having a “trad husband” means he’s going to go to work, bring home enough to cover the bills (maybe) and expect you to feed him, wash his clothes, pack his lunch, care for the children, never be too tired for s*x, keep the house clean and likely work outside of the home.
You’ll be expected to schedule and remember everyone’s appointments, remember his family members birthdays, his work events and more.
Republicans are pushing you to marry young so you won’t have the education or ability to leave if you’re unhappy or abused. But if you really want to know what they think, pay attention to what they push for their own children. Pay attention to the women they listen to and respect.
Don’t listen to their words.
Watch their behaviors.
Stay safe out there ladies. Don’t get bamboozled by false eyelashes and hair extensions.
