410th Civil Affairs Battalion FRG

410th Civil Affairs Battalion FRG The Family Readiness Group (FRG) page exists to keep communication flowing between members of the FR USACAPOC(A) page OPSEC Rules

1.
(2)

Do not post exact deployment dates or redeployment dates – stick to generalities like “Spring”

2. Do not reveal camp or FOB locations for future movements or deployments, including nearby cities. After the deployment is officially announced by Military officials, you may discuss locations that have been released, normally on the major city, province or Country level (I,e Baghdad or Kabul are larg

e enough places to name).

3. Do not discuss convoy routes (“we travelled through Takrit on our way to X”)

4. Detailed information on the mission, capabilities or morale of a unit

5. Specific names or actual nicknames

6. Personnel transactions that occur in large numbers (Example: pay information, powers of attorney, wills, etc)

7. Details concerning security procedures, response times, tactics

8. Don’t discuss equipment or lack thereof, to include training equipment

9. Don’t speculate about future operations

10. If posting pictures, don’t post anything that could be misconstrued or used for propaganda purposes. A good rule of thumb is to look at your picture without your caption or explanation and consider if it could be re-captioned to reflect poorly on coalition forces. For example, your image might show your Soldier rescuing a child from a blast site, but could be re-captioned to insinuate that the child being captured or harmed. (it’s happened!)

11. Avoid the use of count-up or count-down tickers for the same reason as rule #1

12. Be very careful if posting pictures of your loved one. Avoid images that show significant landmarks near their base of operations, and black out last names and unit affiliations

13. Do not, ever, post information about casualties (coalition or enemy) before the official release of the information.

14. Do not pass on rumors (“I heard they’re coming home early”, etc)

If you have any questions, contact your (or your sponsor’s) unit OPSEC manager.”

Helping a Young Child Cope With a Parent's deployment

Children may find it very difficult to adjust to the absence of a parent who is called to duty. Some children may not understand why a parent has to leave, while others may be afraid for their parent's safety.

Seasons Greetings from your friendly neighborhood Public Affairs Rep!

The Grinch had a devious plan to thwart the 410th’s holiday plans this year, and he would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for those meddling FRG Coordinators! SSG Finke and Mrs. Lugo have been secretly coordinating with Santa Claus this year, and enlisted the help of volunteers throughout the battalion to ensure the success of “Operation Door Dash.”

Soldiers, if you got ding-dong-ditched this morning and found a bag full of goodies at your door, don’t be alarmed! Your peers were detailed out to Taskforce Rudolph as helper elves to carry out the mission of spreading Christmas cheer! 🎄 ⭐️ 🎁 🍪

A huge thank you to everyone involved in this endeavor: SSG Finke, Mrs. Lugo, CPT Ramirez, SSG King, SGT Pagan, SGT Higa, SPC Gardner, 1SG Schultz, SGT Whitsel, and SSG Todaro!

Thank you so much for the treats! We loved them! ❤
Wow, I just want to give my thanks to the members of the FRG who have taken time out of their day to deliver seasons greetings to our soldiers. I'm fortunate and grateful to be part of such a supportive and welcoming team!
Hello 410th CA BN,

On 10/21/2017, I will be joining others who have a shared determination to free the world from the pain and suffering of breast cancer by participating in the Making Strides of El Paso. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the largest breast cancer fundraiser in the world.

Donations raised will enable the American Cancer Society, the leader in groundbreaking breast cancer research, to provide free, comprehensive information to those touched by breast cancer and help people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early, when it's most treatable. Your donation will help give patients the critical support they need by:

•Providing free rides to and from treatment

•Funding a 24/7 phone line that connects patients with vital information.

•Allowing patients to stay in our Hope Lodge locations for free when their treatment is far from home.

Please join me in supporting this important cause by donating now. There will be shirts for sale for 20 dollars. If you would like to purchase a shirt give us your name and your size. This will help us estimate how many shirts to order. No one with this disease should ever walk alone.

Visit my fundraising page: http://mobileacs.org/2fG42z9

Thank you!
