Hello everyone!
The Irish bunnies are having an info session about their upcoming CTF to make it easy for people to participate.

The idea of a CTF is to find a “flag” which is basically data. The “flag” is hidden in ways. Solve puzzles to get the flag. We will help you every step along the way, all you have to do is show up. We will provide you with the knowledge and resources to get you started in CTFs. No teams needed, just show up and we'll set you up.

What is a CTF?
Capture the Flags are like hackathons/datathons, but for cyber security nerds. They are competitions that revolve around hacking, code breaking and puzzle solving.

The first Datathon of the semester has started and people are looking for teams.

Hello everyone,
Microsoft has created a virtual mentor program with Microsoft employees. The program is six weeks long starting late September/early October. UTEP was selected as one of the few institutions to take part in this program. To be eligible, students must be 18+ and just starting an intro CS course in college. The program is virtual and combines small group sessions with individual meetings. There is no homework or preparation for mentoring sessions. This program is meant to help you, not add more to your plate.
