“Static Shock, a nerdy comic book character that studied to become an engineer, inspired me to pursue a similar career when I was a kid.

I love the opportunities #EPElectric offers to learn, enhance my knowledge, and continue to develop my problem solving skills.

I am mostly proud of the many electric vehicle (EV) initiatives our team has been able to implement such as our EV website for customer education and outreach, the special incentives and rates in regards to EVs and charging stations, and the collaboration amongst multiple stakeholders and internal departments.

My advice to any future engineers is this: many will give praise to the toddler who can use a smart phone but very few will acknowledge the design and engineering it took to make a complex device so simple that a two year could use it.”

“As a child, I loved taking things apart and putting them back together. Figuring out how things work has always been a passion of mine and is what inspired be to become an engineer.

Designing and constructing new electrical substations to assist in El Paso’s growth is one of my favorite things to do at #EPElectric. I’m mostly proud of being able to write and shape Substation Standards that will continue to influence how EPE operates for many years to come.

For any future engineers out there, never stop learning, study new technology as it develops and you will always be prepared for an ever-changing world.”

“Being an engineer at #EPElectric gives me the opportunity to work with and learn from other engineers, electronic specialists, operators, mechanics, contractors and electricians at our power plants.

Some of the accomplishments I’m most proud of include our protection relay and switchgear upgrades which have made our plants even more reliable.

If I could give some advice to future engineers, I would quote Nikola Tesla on this: “Our virtues and our failing are inseparable, like force and matter. When they separate, man is no more.”

“What inspired me to become an engineer was my curiosity of how things work and using that knowledge to solve problems. My parents have always been my biggest inspiration. They motivate me to always seek knowledge and push myself to do better every day.

I am proud to work at #EPElectric because I’m able to assist and participate in projects that improve our community’s way of living by providing reliable electrical service to our customers.

If I could give any advice to future engineers, I would quote Elon Musk on this: "I could either watch it happen or be a part of it."

#HappyValentinesDay 🥰 Remember to keep your Valentines close and your mylar balloons even closer!

Mylar balloons are a fun way to show your love for someone but they can be a serious issue if they come into contact with power lines. To avoid outages, keep your mylar balloons secure and dispose of them properly.

With #ValentinesDay right around the corner, #EPElectric reminds you that mylar balloons can be a SERIOUS issue if they come into contact with power lines. 💔💥

Please remember to dispose of mylar balloons properly to reduce the risk of outages caused by mylar balloons. #BeSafe
