TROOP LEADING PROCEDURES!
Apache Troop was in the Close Combat Tactical Trainer (CCTT) last week. While 2nd Platoon was refining their tactics in the simulator, 1st Platoon was building their proficiency in troop leading procedures and the operations order. The platoon leadership received a Troop level operations order and was given 48 hours for platoon planning. The platoon leader and platoon sergeant were evaluated on their order, their graphic overlays, and their platoon sand table rehearsal. The Bradley commanders were then separated with their graphics and a radio where they fought their plan through a series of injects presented by the troop commander and first sergeant. The injects presented to each Bradley commander consisted of war-fighting problem sets that forced the platoon to communicate and have common understanding in order to meet the commander’s intent. The commander and first sergeant evaluated the platoon’s responses to ensure they didn’t violate the fundamentals of reconnaissance and security.
