El Paso Fire Department The official page of the El Paso Fire Department. For emergencies dial 911. The El Paso Fire Department is a full-service fire department.

We respond to all calls involving fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials events in the City of El Paso. Specialized teams respond to water, mountain, and technical rescues. We also respond to many other types of emergency events. The department provides mutual aid to Fort Bliss Military Base and the County of El Paso under the terms of the Mutual Aid Agreements. When an emergency event occurs the role of the Fire Department is to arrive on the scene as quickly and safely as possible in order to provide assistance and mitigate the emergency. The Fire Department responds to over 70,000 emergency calls annually. The Fire Department utilizes resources from the community to limit the number and types of emergencies that occur. The inspectors of the Fire Prevention Division help ensure that the building and fire codes are followed. All businesses are inspected for fire hazards annually. If inspectors find any, the owner or occupant is required to fix them and bring them up to the requirements of the code. Investigators help ensure that suspicious fires are thoroughly investigated and people that commit these types of fires are brought to justice. The Public Education unit trains citizens and children in fire safety and how to use fire extinguishers.

Last night, we proudly celebrated 32 graduates who completed extensive training and reaffirmed their commitment to serving others by reciting the paramedic oath. We also recognized Valedictorian Denny Chavez and Salutatorian Jorge Caldera for their outstanding academic achievements. Additionally, the class presented a special class gift to their instructors in appreciation of their guidance and support throughout their training.

We are proud of all our graduates and look forward to the lifesaving impact they will make in our community. Congratulations, Paramedic Class #11!

Many individuals in our community have experienced domestic violence… we are walking to help change that.

Tomorrow, the EPFD is trading our boots for red heels 👠 as we join the YWCA’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event to raise awareness about domestic violence and show survivors that our community stands with them.

This cause is about more than taking steps in a pair of heels. It’s about breaking the silence, supporting those affected, and helping create a path forward for individuals and families who deserve to feel safe. 🫶🏻

You can stand with us, too! Every donation to our team benefits the Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center, helping provide resources and support to those impacted by domestic violence. Help us turn every step into a statement.
